I'm Pat Churchill, a New Zealander now living in Melbourne, Australia with my husband Don.

I have an extensive background in daily newspaper journalism and corporate relations work. My food writing began 30 years ago with a column for bachelor cooks, Man About the House, which later evolved into a cookbook. I've also written an Ebook, The Novice Cook, available free on this site.

I am a member of the Australian Association of Food Professionals and I write food columns for newspapers in New Zealand. My former website, Kiwi Kitchen, won the NZ Guild of Food Writers Electronic Media Award-IT for 2001. These articles are archived in the Kiwi Kitchen section while Cooking Down Under embraces my culinary adventures since arriving in Australia.

Family Italian John Lanzafame Sydney restaurateur and current World Champion Pizza Maker, John Lanzafame, has a new cookbook coming out in November. Titled Family Italian, it follows the runaway success, of his Pizza Modo Mio. John is owner and chef of Lanzafame Trattoria in Woolloomooloo.
